To accompany the latest Become a Patron! campaign for the acquisition of the Choiseul Snuffbox, the Société des Amis du Louvre is inviting all donors to a dedicated programme of events based on the life and personality of the Duc de Choiseul, and of other major art collectors of the 18th century.
The Société des Amis du Louvre was founded in 1897 and became one of the museum’s first private patrons. Since then, it has added some 850 masterpieces to the Louvre’s various departments. This year, the Société des Amis du Louvre is making an exceptional contribution to the Become a Patron! campaign by donating €500,000 for the acquisition of the Choiseul Snuffbox.
